Major Changes

Please note that this is a major change from previous versions and is not compatible with earlier versions. There is no upgrade script, you have been warned. 🙂

Changed: Totally rewritten as an application for PHP 8 and Invision 4.7+,
Changed: The way blocks are added have changed, you can now have as many rows and columns as you like for your footer,
Added: Rows and blocks can now be reorganized to fit your needs, You can swap blocks between different rows,
Added: Rows and blocks can be enabled or disabled,
Added: Rows can be Theme dependant, so you can customize your footer rows for every theme you have installed. (More row customization options to come in the future, including colours.)
Added: Many row and block customization choices, display title or not, remove borders, block alignment (Left, right or Center), Horizontal or vertical alignment, fixed or fluid block sizes,
Changed: You can add different types of blocks Custom Type, Links, Social, Image and CMS Block. (I will add more in the future),
Changed: Adding links is much easier and without using HTML now. Just add the URL and title for each link using the form,
Changed, Social links are now no longer limited, and you can add as many as you like. You can add/change background, foreground and icon colours. So, if your default social media isn't in the default, just create it yourself,

Customization changes:

  • Changes/Fix: Theme colours better match theme colours.
  • Fix: Background overlay colours didn't always use theme colours,
  • Change/Fix: Borders and separators will use correct theme and custom colours.
  • Changed: Social Icons can now use a default colour or their own colours, previously the default colour was used, and the social media colour was shown on hover. This behaviour has changed.
  • Changed: The CSS styles were totally rewritten and now uses a lot less css styles.
  • Removed: The fancy border has gone the way of the Dodo. It was pretty useless anyway.
  • Added: The footer can either use the default image from your theme or a global logo.
  • Fixed: Logo width will display correctly now. Before it was a fixed width regardless of the size chosen.
  • Background Image: There were a few issues with background images now displaying correctly, this has been fixed. There was also an issue with the background colour now using theme or custom colours correctly.
Compatibility Issues with custom themes.

I have noticed there could be compatibility issues with custom themes. IPSFocus themes where they have a fixed layout width will cause the footer to stay in block mode rather than full-width or cause the block content to go offscreen. You may have to change to a fixed block width in order to fix this. I will fix these issues in a later update.

And yes, it is still free. If you like my work, you're always more than welcome to send a small donation. 🙂
  • Fixed: The bottom advertisement block would display below the Website Footer, this advert block will now display above the footer as expected.
  • Changed: The "Block Settings" tab has changed its order within the form tabs to be the default tab (Settings tab was the previous default tab). This was due to the fact that the "Block Settings" tab is most likely to be the most used when editing the Plug-in settings.
  • Added: Block Type Select Option: There are now three different "Block Types". This is to reflect the different types of content which can be used.
    • WYSIWYG
    • HTML
    • Pages
  • Changed: The original Text Editor (Text Box) has been changed to a WYSIWYG Editor (The Default Editor for IPS). This is to allow easy editing of a block content without the need to know HTML.
  • Added: CodeMirror Editor. The CodeMirror box will allow adding HTML code with coding styles rather than just as plain text.
  • Added: Pages Blocks. You can now add a Pages (CMS) Block by adding the Pages Block template key. So anything that you can dream up using Pages Blocks can be added to the Footer. Please be aware, the Pages Block styling my clash with your footer, so you may have to change the Pages Block Styling to match your Footer stying.
  • Changed: Display This Block options. When de-toggling the 'Display This Block' option within the plugin form, this will hide the other options for this block, this is to keep the form clutter down to a minimum.
