[RSS Feed/News] How to modify the template of a specific widget?

I'd like to show a Similar thread widget in a specific forum without showing usernames and some other information. At the same time, I'll use that widget in any other forum without modifications. Is there a way to do this? Maybe using conditionals on the general template for that widget?
