[RSS Feed/News] Safari Frequently Visited Icon

So I feel I've tried everything but I can't get my site's favicon to show up in Safari's Frequently Visited Sites when you click on the URL bar. I've manually added the apple-touch-icon to root and added a link in page_container and still nothing.

Anyone else have a work around?
