Do I need XenForo Resource Manager to use this add-on?
Yes. This add-on is specifically built for XenForo Resource Manager download buttons. It will not do anything useful on a forum that does not have XenForo Resource Manager installed.
Which Resource Manager buttons does it style?
It can style the uploaded file download button, the external download URL button, and the external purchase button.
Does this add-on change download permissions?
No. It does not change who can download a resource, who can view a resource, or who can purchase anything. It only changes the visual styling of supported active Resource Manager buttons.
Does it style disabled or no-permission buttons?
No. Disabled and no-permission buttons are intentionally left unchanged so XenForo’s normal permission behavior remains clear to users.
Does this add payment, licensing, or marketplace features?
No. This is only a button styling add-on. It does not add payment handling, license validation, sales features, marketplace features, or download gating.
Why do I need to click Save once after installation?
After installing the add-on, visit Setup → Options → [XenChef] XFRM Download Button Styler, review the default settings, and click Save once. This applies the default styling options and confirms which Resource Manager button types should be styled.
Can I choose which button types are styled?
Yes. You can choose whether enhanced styling applies to uploaded file download buttons, external download URL buttons, external purchase buttons, or any combination of those supported button types.
Can I use a normal solid button color instead of a gradient?
Yes. Gradient mode is optional. If gradient mode is disabled, the button uses the normal solid background color setting.
Can I customize the gradient colors?
Yes. When gradient mode is enabled, you can set the gradient start, middle, and end colors from the add-on options page.
Can I change the button icon color separately from the text color?
Yes. The button text color and button icon color are separate settings, so you can keep the text readable while giving the icon a different accent color.
Can I customize the button text?
Yes. The add-on includes optional custom button text fields for uploaded file downloads, external download URLs, and external purchase buttons. Blank fields fall back to the normal XenForo/XFRM button text.
What do the advanced styling controls do?
Advanced styling controls let you fine-tune things like custom font size, padding, border radius, border color, glow colors, animation timing, sheen behavior, and mobile button styling. These fields stay hidden unless advanced controls are enabled.
