[RSS Feed/News] A what's-new page with multiple content types

I would really like a page that can list all new posts, new resources, new media items etc. in chronological order, rather than the current what's-new page which has the various content types, or using the tabs.
Just a list of all new content.

Showing a short snippet of the post would be a useful extra....
