I think you have tried to install the style wrongly. I am trying to give a step by step instruction on how to do it (which is pretty simple). See whether it matches with yours.
Steps to follow:

1. Extract the style's zip file in this case it is 'Exclusive Dark 2_2_6_1.zip'.
2. Inside the extracted folder you will find one folder 'Exclusive Dark 2.2.6.1' and two image files 'exclusive_dark_1.jpg' and 'exclusive_dark_2.jpg'.
3. Look inside the folder 'Exclusive Dark 2.2.6.1' and you will find five folders named 'add-on', 'psd', 'upload', 'xml' and 'XnForo.ir'.
4. Now log in to your Xenforo Admin Panel and go to 'Add-ons > Add-ons' and click on the 'install/upgrade from archive' button on the upper right hand corner, browse for the add-on in your pc and click on 'upload' and then install it.
5. Then go to 'upload' folder inside that 'Exclusive Dark 2.2.6.1' folder and copy the 'styles' folder and paste it in the 'public_html' folder (not in the 'public_html/upload' folder). It may or may not ask to overwrite files. If it asks, then overwrite all.
6. Then you go to your site's Admin Panel and go to 'Appearance > Styles'.
7. Then click on 'Import'.
8. Then click on 'browse' and go to the folder 'xml' inside that 'Exclusive Dark 2.2.6.1' folder in your pc, select it and click on 'Open'.
9. In the 'Import as' settings 'Child of Style' should be 'No Parent' and leave the other settings as is.
10. Click on 'Import' and the style will be imported. Don't activate it right now.
11. Now make a child theme based on the newly installed 'Exclusive Dark 2.2.6.1' style and activate that child theme.
12. The process is complete and you should see your forum with this 'Exclusive Dark 2.2.6.1' style.
