[RSS Feed/News] Inconsistent enter-key handling on Safari (iOS)

I've had reports from users since updating to XF2.2.6 that the editor in Safari (iPhone/iPad) has inconsistent for the number of times enter needs to be pressed to get a fixed number of newlines;

If I double-press space to produce a period (and an extra space), then enter, then I need to press enter three times to get two newlines.
Otherwise, it works as expected.
If I manually add a trailing space to the line before I start pressing enter, then I also need to hit enter three times...
